Sweet & Spicy – Bluff with a Twist 🌶️🍋

Sweet & Spicy from HeidelBÄR Games is a fresh take on the bluffing card game Spicy, designed by Zoltán Győri. It is for 2 to 6 players aged 8+ and plays in about 15 minutes.

The deck holds spicy cards in three spices, chili, lemon and pepper, numbered 1 to 10, plus a few Half Wilds. Everyone starts with five spicy cards and one Total Wild. On your turn, play one card face down onto the stack and declare its spice and number; the first card of a stack must be a 1, 2 or 3, and each next card must be the same spice with a higher number. Your declaration may be true, but it doesn't have to be. Any player can challenge the top card by calling either wrong number or wrong spice. Reveal it: if the challenged trait is wrong, the challenger wins, otherwise the player who played it does. The winner takes the whole stack as points, and the loser draws two cards. Total Wilds count as any spice and number and cannot be challenged, but you cannot win a trophy with one. Get rid of your last card unchallenged, or win the challenge, to collect a trophy. The game ends with a second trophy, the last trophy or the Game End card, and a player with two trophies wins outright.
