Kniffel Classic Line – The Dice Classic 🎲📝

Full house, three of a kind or the fours? Since 1972, families in Germany have been rolling dice with Kniffel, the cult game with a cup, five dice and a score pad. This Classic Line edition from Schmidt Spiele comes with a large Kniffel pad and the original Kniffel cup.

On your turn, you roll the five dice from the cup and may roll again up to two more times, keeping the dice you like and re-rolling the rest. Then you enter your result in one of the 13 boxes in your column on the score pad – ideally the sum of the matching dice, or one of the special combinations such as three of a kind, four of a kind, full house, small or large straight, or the coveted Kniffel: five of a kind. Every box can only be filled once, so each round becomes a small decision. Do you take the safe points now, or gamble on something bigger? And when the dice refuse to cooperate, you sometimes have to cross out a box and write a zero. At the end, the player with the most points on the Kniffel pad wins. The rules are simple and quick to explain, which makes Kniffel a game that brings generations together – grandchildren with grandparents, parents with children, or a group of friends.
