Unmatched: Sun's Origin – Japanese Legends Take the Field 🏯⚔️

Japan has a long history, rich with brilliant strategists and fierce warriors. Unmatched: Sun's Origin brings two legendary fighters from Japan into Unmatched, the game of tactical combat between unlikely opponents from Restoration Games, published here by IELLO.

Battle Oda Nobunaga, the 16th-century daimyo credited with unifying Japan, against Tomoe Gozen, the unlikely and unstoppable female warrior whose deeds found their way into the epic Tale of the Heike – or mix and match these heroes with any other Unmatched fighters. In battle, Nobunaga commands his honour guard, a pair of unique sidekicks that each have their own health dial – a first in the Unmatched system. Tomoe Gozen pursues her enemy with singular purpose and punishes them when they flee. The fight unfolds in the storied Azuchi Castle, which offers one of the most intriguing layouts ever released on a two-player map. As with every Unmatched set, these heroes can face off against fighters from other sets – even the villains in Unmatched Adventures – which makes Sun's Origin a good addition for experienced players and a great entry point for new ones. Everything is brought to life by the artwork of Yuta Onoda, with cultural consultation provided by Saigo. The box contains a gameboard, 2 hero miniatures, 60 action cards (30 per hero), 2 character cards, 4 health dials, 2 sidekick tokens, a core rulebook and a set rulebook.
