Durian – Ring the Bell… Angry Gorilla! 🔔🦍

Today the jungle fruit shop is busy and bustling once again. Durian by Masato Uesugi, the designer of Paper Tales, with artwork by Hiroko Izumida, is a tense little game from Oink Games for 2–7 players aged 7 and up, in about 20 minutes.

You are clerks at the jungle fruit shop. Each player takes one fruit card and places it on a wooden stand so that everyone else can see it – but not you. One card stays unknown. Then players take turns taking orders: each order card shows two types of fruit, and you must choose one of them. Of course, eventually there will be too many orders. If you think the shop cannot deliver, ring the handbell and the manager comes over – a huge gorilla! If too many orders were taken, the player who took the last order gets reprimanded. But if there were not too many, the one who rang the bell is in trouble. The manager's anger level starts at 1 and goes up to 7 – when it reaches 7, the game is over, and a really angry manager can knock you out in one shot. And watch out for the three mischievous gorilla siblings who love to cause trouble.
