Play together, talk very little, and try to get all 98 cards onto four piles!

The Game by Steffen Benndorf, published by NSV, is a cooperative card game for 1-5 players aged 8+ in about 20 minutes. Players must play cards numbered 2 to 99 onto two ascending and two descending piles – without saying which numbers they hold. It was nominated for the Spiel des Jahres 2015.

🔢 Four Piles, 98 Cards

Two piles count up from 1, two count down from 100. Play at least two cards each turn and keep the piles open as long as possible.

🙊 Limited Communication

You may hint – 'don't play on this pile!' – but never reveal exact numbers. Every move needs trust and timing.

🔄 The Backwards Trick

Play a card exactly 10 lower (or higher) to reset a pile and save the team.
