Patchwork Doodle – Quilt on Paper 🧵✏️

An unusual Patchwork. Patchwork Doodle by Uwe Rosenberg (Lookout Games) is a roll-and-write game from the Patchwork universe for one or more players – from solo up to six and beyond – aged 8+, taking about 20 minutes.

Everyone starts by drawing a starting patch onto the 9×9 grid on their sheet. Then patch cards are laid out in a circle, each showing a different puzzle piece. A die roll moves the marker around the circle and decides which patch everyone has to draw next – all players draw the same shape, but each decides where it goes on their own quilt. To make the most of each round, you also have special actions that let you bend the rules for a moment, and each one can only be used once, so timing matters. After three fast rounds, scoring begins. Every empty space on your grid costs you a point, so pack your patches tightly. The player with the most points becomes the new Patchwork master. With a pad of 80 sheets and six pencils in a small box, Patchwork Doodle is easy to take on trips, and it works just as well for a quiet solo game as for a bigger group at the table.
