Schotten Totten 2 – The Siege of the Castle 🏰🔥

In Schotten Totten 2, the two opponents are now pitted against each other to take a castle. A standalone game by Reiner Knizia with artwork by Djib, from IELLO's Mini Games line, for 2 players aged 8+, about 20 minutes.

The attacker and the defender must prove their superiority over the wall locations – but this time, each player has different objectives and their own victory conditions. This asymmetry is the real novelty of Schotten Totten 2. Only the attacker can claim a wall tile, and the defender's only option is to prevent this. The defender has three cauldrons of boiling oil with which to discard one of the attacker's cards, while the attacker can retreat from certain tiles in order to return in force later. The game is based on the same mechanism as its predecessor: you lay cards to form stronger combinations at specific places. But here too, everything changes. Each wall tile is now different and asks for its own number of cards and type of combination, which adds a lot of variety and forces the attacker to make tough choices based on the cards in hand. The attacker wins by damaging four different wall tiles, or by creating a breach in a tile that is already damaged. The defender wins by holding out until the Siege deck runs out. Optional Tactic cards add more twists.
