Sea Salt & Paper – Don't Get Caught in the Trough of the Wave 🌊🐚

Sea Salt & Paper is a small card game by Bruno Cathala and Théo Rivière from Bombyx, with a whole sea world folded from paper. It plays with 2 to 4 players aged 8 and up in about 30 minutes.

Every card shows a sea creature or object made of origami, created especially for the game by Pierre-Yves Gallard and Lucien Derainne. On your turn, you draw cards and build your hand. Play pairs of matching duo cards for their effects, collect sets and look for combos that push your score up. Once you have at least 7 points, you face the big choice: stop the round right away, or call last chance and give everyone one more turn to try to beat you. Take the risk and you can widen the gap, but misjudge it and the others may catch you. The first to reach the target score wins, which is 40 points with 2 players, 35 with 3 and 30 with 4, and collecting all four mermaids wins the game on the spot. The cards use the ColorADD code, so colour-blind players can tell the colours apart.
