Carson City: The Card Game – Build Your Boomtown 🤠🏜️

Each player is in charge of the development of a city. You and your opponents compete for the most lucrative parcels of land and buildings, then place them wisely to make your city as prosperous as possible. Carson City: The Card Game by Xavier Georges (Quined Games) is for 1–6 players aged 12+, in 30–45 minutes.

The game is played over two eras of nine rounds each. In every round, one character card and four terrain cards are revealed. Everyone secretly chooses one of their nine auction cards, numbered 1 to 9, and all are revealed at once. Starting with the highest bid, players pick a terrain card for their city or the character on offer – and each auction card can be used only once per era. Each terrain card shows four parcels, and your city may grow to 8 × 8 parcels. Placement is everything: ranches like empty land around them, mines need mountains, and saloons, banks and drugstores score for the houses next to them. Characters such as the Sheriff, the Banker or the Gunsmith bring extra points or change the rules for you. Watch out for outlaws, which cost points unless you have the Sheriff or a prison. Virtual players make sure there are always at least four bidders, so the game also works solo or with two.
