Hashi – Build Bridges Between Islands 🌉✏️

The popular Japanese pencil puzzle, turned into a game. Hashi by Jeffrey D. Allers, published by NSV, is a flip and write puzzle game for 1 to 4 players aged 8 and up, in about 20 minutes.

Each player has a wipe-clean board with islands and all the possible bridge connections between them – with an easier A side and a more complex B side. To start, everyone writes a number on one island of their neighbour's board, so all players begin a little differently. Then a card is flipped each round, and all players use it at the same time. First, you may write the number shown on the card onto one of your islands. Then you draw the bridges shown on the card. Bridges run horizontally or vertically, may never cross, and at most two can run side by side. When the number of bridges on an island matches its number, the island is finished and scores points. Bonus points go to the players who finish special flagged islands or build a chain of finished islands – and those who manage it first score more. Alone, it is a great high-score puzzle; with more players, it becomes an exciting game without waiting.
