Azul: Crystal Mosaic – Fresh Walls for Your Mosaic 💎🧩

Bring new challenges to your Azul table. Azul: Crystal Mosaic by Michael Kiesling is an expansion for Azul with four new double-sided player boards and four overlays that hold your tiles neatly in place. It is for 2–4 players and takes about 30–45 minutes. You need the Azul base game to play.

Setup is quick: swap the base-game player boards for the new ones, agree on which side everyone uses, and place an overlay on each board so that it lines up exactly. The game also plays with the familiar variant rule: when you move a tile from a pattern line to your wall, you may place it on any free space of that horizontal line, as long as each colour appears only once in every row and column. The values of the floor line spaces have changed, and each side of the board has its own twist. On side 1, some wall spaces show a colour and a x2 multiplier – only tiles of that colour may go there, and placing one doubles the points it scores. On side 2, some spaces are also pre-printed with a colour, and the end-of-game bonuses change: 3 points for each complete horizontal line, 10 for each complete vertical line and 12 for each colour with all 5 tiles placed. The game ends as in the base game.
