Piles! – No Turns, No Waiting, Just Speed 🧦⚡

Piles! from Lost Boy Entertainment is a fast family card game with no turns: everyone plays at the same time, racing to sort their cards into matching sets of clothing. For 2 to 8 players aged 8+, a game takes less than 15 minutes.

The deck has 50 sets of four cards; each set shows the same item of clothing – socks, shirts, jackets and more – in four different colours. Everyone gets six face-down piles of four cards, and four cards are laid face up in the centre of the table. Then the race begins. You may only hold one of your piles at a time: pick it up, look at the four cards, discard one card to the centre and take one of the centre cards in its place. A pile never holds more than four cards, so put it back face down and pick up another. When a pile contains four matching items, place it face up – that set is complete. Because everyone grabs and drops cards at the same time, the card you need may be snatched away just before you reach it, so you have to remember where things are and react quickly. The first player to complete all six piles shouts “Piles!” and wins. There is no text on the cards, so you can play with anyone, whatever language they speak.
