The King's Dilemma – The Kingdom Is in Your Hands 👑⚖️

Will you act for the greater good, or will you think only of yourself? The King's Dilemma by Lorenzo Silva and Hjalmar Hach (Horrible Guild) is a competitive narrative legacy game for 3–5 players aged 14+, with sessions of about 60 minutes.

You represent one of the Houses that lead the government of the Kingdom of Ankist. Each round, you draw a card from the Dilemma deck, and each card poses a problem that the Council has to solve on the King's behalf. You discuss, bargain with the other players and finally vote – and the outcome moves the story forward and may unlock new events. Every event happens only once, so your choices shape a story that belongs only to your group. At the heart of the game is an evolving deck of event cards with several branching storylines and many possible finales. You have to keep the kingdom going while also seeking an advantage for your own House. That power struggle can lead the kingdom into war, famine or riot – or bring wealth and well-being. What is good for the kingdom as a whole may be bad for your family. Because it is a legacy game, the decisions are permanent: the story carries on from one session to the next with the same group.
