Carcassonne: Dragon & Fairy – Magic in the Countryside 🐉🧚

A hungry dragon roams the countryside of Carcassonne. Dragon & Fairy by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede and the Hans im Glück team is the third expansion for Carcassonne in its 2025 edition, for 2 to 6 players aged 7 and up, in about 40 minutes.

When a tile with a dragon hoard is placed, the dragon moves onto it and turns towards a neighbouring tile – preferably towards a meeple in its line of sight. Draw a tile with a dragon symbol and, before placing it, the dragon moves straight ahead twice, removing every meeple on the tiles it enters. Plan ahead to stay out of its path! Complete a road or city without scoring and you may assign the fairy to one of your meeple: it protects that meeple from the dragon and scores you 3 points when its feature is scored. Magic portals let you place a meeple on any tile in the playing area, so you can grab a feature you thought was lost. A double source tile and a double lake tile also extend The River mini-expansion.

🐉 The Dragon

🌀 Magic Portals
