Pictures: XL Photos – Bigger Photos, Easier to See 📷🔍

Pictures: XL Photos by PD-Verlag is an expansion for Pictures, the Spiel des Jahres 2020 winner by Daniela and Christian Stöhr. It contains the photos of the original game in a much larger format. You need the original Pictures to play.

In Pictures, every player secretly gets one of the photos laid out on the table and has to recreate it with a set of materials – shoelaces, colour cubes, icon cards, sticks and stones or building blocks – so that the others can guess which photo it is. Good guesses depend on seeing the photos well, and that is where this expansion helps. XL Photos contains all 182 photos of the original game on 91 large cards, with the photos over 60% larger by surface than in the original. The cards measure 111 × 79 mm, so details are easier to spot from every seat around the table – handy for bigger tables, younger or older eyes, or anyone who simply prefers a clearer view. On top of that, four cards add 8 new photos themed on games, and one card describes a variant for experienced players. The rules of Pictures stay the same: simply use the XL cards instead of the original photo cards.
