Luxor – Race to the Pharaoh's Tomb 🏺🗝️

Groups of adventurers search the legendary temple of Luxor for precious treasures. Luxor by Rüdiger Dorn (Queen Games) is a board game for 2–4 players aged 8+, in about 45 minutes, and was nominated for the Spiel des Jahres 2018.

Your adventurers move from tile to tile towards the tomb chamber, and the closer they get and the more treasures they collect, the more points you score. The twist is your hand of five cards: you may never change their order, you can only play the leftmost or the rightmost card, and every new card goes into the middle. So you always plan a few turns ahead. When an adventurer stops, you take the tile's action – grab a scarab, a wild treasure, a key or a Horus card with new ways to move, or rush through a tunnel. Treasures need enough of your adventurers on the same tile, and taking one may reveal a new temple tile, so the path changes all the time. To enter the tomb chamber you need an exact move and a key. The game ends after the round in which the second adventurer enters the tomb. Then you score your adventurers' positions, sarcophagi, keys, treasure sets and scarabs.
