The Root: Marauder Hirelings Pack & Hireling Box from Leder Games adds three sets of hirelings to Root, along with a box to store and organise all your hirelings. This is an expansion – you need the Root board game to play.

Hirelings are extra forces that lend their services to the players and can change their allegiance throughout the game as the conflict drags on. They can be added to games at any player count. With fewer players, the hirelings add new pieces to the map, ramping up the tension and giving you more tactical options. With more players, some hireling cards flip over to reveal new special abilities, letting you explore unique and powerful strategies. The Marauder pack contains three double-sided hireling sets. Burn it all down with the Flame Bearers or dispatch special orders with the Rat Smugglers. Capture attention with the Street Band or put on a Woodland show with the Popular Band. Preserve the ancient ways with the Vault Keepers or shield yourself from harm with the Badger Bodyguards. Along with the cards come new wooden warriors, control markers, hireling markers, Vault buildings and a hireling die. The Hireling Box gives you an easy way to keep these and other hireling sets sorted between games.
