Kingdom Builder – Easy to Teach, Different Every Game 🏰

Want a strategy game you can teach in a few minutes that keeps everyone thinking until the last settlement? Kingdom Builder is for families with older kids, couples and friends who like a clever puzzle on the table: simple turns, real decisions and a winner only at the very end.

At the table it feels like a friendly race for space. Everyone builds on the same board, so one well-placed settlement can block a neighbour or win you a location tile. The three goals change every game, and so does your plan: what earned plenty of gold last time may earn nothing now. Kingdom Builder won the Spiel des Jahres in 2012, and this Family & Friends Compact Edition from Queen Games fits it into a smaller box with four double-sided board sections. Two castle tiles add the Beautiful Castles variant.

🃏 Play Your Terrain

Reveal your hidden terrain tile: grass, canyon, desert, flower field or forest.

🏘️ Build Three Settlements

Place them on that terrain, next to your own settlements whenever you can.

🏰 Claim Location Tiles

Build next to a location and take its tile: an extra action from your next turn on.

🎯 Chase This Game's Goals

Three of the ten Kingdom Builder tiles decide how you earn gold.

🪙 Count the Gold

When someone places their last settlement, finish the round. The most gold wins.

Why You'll Love It:

• 🧠 Easy to teach: three settlements on one terrain, every turn.
• 🔄 Different every game: new goals, a new board and new location tiles.
• 👀 Everyone stays involved: every move changes the board you all share. More ideas among our strategy games.
