Poetry for Neanderthals: Pop Culture – Film Where Big Shark 🦈🗿

Poetry for Neanderthals: Pop Culture from Exploding Kittens takes the one-syllable guessing game into the world of film, music and TV. It is for 2 or more players aged 7+ and plays in about 15 minutes.

Split into two teams. When you are the Poet, the other team starts a 60-second phone timer, and you draw a Poetry Card. Your job is to get your team to say the word or phrase on the card, but you can only use words with one syllable. So instead of saying the title of a famous shark film, you might say "film where big shark". You can't say the word itself or part of it, and gestures are off limits. When a teammate gets it right, put the card in your team's Point Pile and keep drawing until the timer runs out. You can skip a card, but it goes to the other team as a point. Meanwhile, a player from the other team stands beside you holding the inflatable NO! Stick. If you break a rule, they shout "NO!", bop you gently(ish) and steal the card for their team. At the start, the Poet chooses which colour side of the cards everyone will read for the whole game. When both teams have had three turns, the team with the most cards wins.
