Carcassonne: The Tower – Build Up and Take Prisoners 🏰🗼

Raise towers over the landscape of Carcassonne and keep your rivals' followers in check. Carcassonne: The Tower is expansion #4 for Carcassonne (Z-Man Games), and you need the Carcassonne base game to play.

The expansion adds 18 land tiles with tower foundations. After placing a tile, you may add a tower floor to a foundation or to an open tower, or place one of your meeples on top of an open tower to close it for good. Each time you add a floor, you may capture one meeple within the tower's reach. The reach covers the tower's own tile and, for every floor, one more tile in each straight direction, so tall towers watch over a lot of ground. Captured meeples become your prisoners. If two players hold each other's prisoners, they are exchanged automatically; otherwise a player can buy a follower back for 3 points. Towers bring a new layer of tactics: protect your big cities and roads, or build up quickly to threaten your opponents. A tile tower is included as well, so you can stack the land tiles and draw them easily during the game.
