Kahuna – Rule the South Sea Islands 🏝️🌉

A modern classic for two. Kahuna by Günter Cornett, published by Kosmos, is a strategy game for 2 players aged 10 and up, in about 30 to 40 minutes.

Twelve islands lie on the board, linked by dotted lines. You play island cards to place your bridges on these lines – or you play two matching cards to remove one of your opponent's bridges. If your bridges occupy more than half of an island's connecting lines, you take control of it and place a Kahuna token there. Then all of your opponent's bridges connected to that island are removed – which can make them lose control of neighbouring islands too. A single move can set off a chain reaction across the archipelago. The game is played over three scoring rounds: after the first and second, the player who controls more islands scores 1 and then 2 points, and the final scoring awards the difference in controlled islands. If a player has no bridges left on the board in the second or third scoring round, the game ends early and the other player wins. Handicap rules and two variants let you balance the game or play with less luck.
