Omerta – Ditch the Bottles Before the Raid 🕵️🍾

Chicago, 2 November 1932, 10:34 pm. Your informant in the police has just called: the Untouchables are about to raid the smuggling warehouses. Omerta, published by Helvetiq, is a bluff and memory card game for 3 to 5 players aged 10 and up, in about 20 minutes.

You are the boss of one of the great criminal gangs of Chicago, and you must get rid of your stash of illegal bottles as fast as possible. Each player has four face-down cards and may look at only two of them at the start. On your turn, you draw a card from the draw pile or the discard pile and either swap it with one of your cards or discard it. Whenever a bottle card is discarded, the fastest player can also throw away an identical card – but a wrong guess costs you an extra card. Character cards have useful powers when discarded, but they also carry bottles, so keeping them adds to your score. When you think your cards add up to 7 or less, call Omerta at the start of your turn. If you are right and lowest, you score nothing; if not, you take a 20-point penalty. Play one round per player – the lowest total wins.
