Djinn – Protect the Magic Source 🧞🔮

Long ago, the Ancient Ones discovered a powerful Magic Source, and a vibrant community has grown around it. Djinn by Benjamin Schwer, with artwork by Dennis Lohausen, published by Hall Games with Pegasus Spiele, is an atmospheric euro game for 1 to 4 players.

Troublesome creatures called Djinn – magical beings, half physical, half ethereal – have been drawn to the energy of the Magic Source and appeared at various locations around the city. As eager apprentices of the Magic Guild, you are tasked with protecting the Source and capturing the Djinn. So far, you have learned how to trap these troublemakers temporarily in spell circles. But you can only control them permanently if you catch them in Djinn bottles made of dragon glass – and to close the bottles, you need corks made from the bark of a tree near the Magic Source, rare materials you will have to find yourself. On your turn, you move your mage across the action spaces of the city map and trigger the actions of the linked locations, such as the Tavern, the Manufactory and the Catacombs. Your magic power is tracked on your player board, and you use it when you encounter Djinn. The game rewards long-term strategic planning as well as flexibility, and each game presents a new puzzle to decipher and explore. A solo mode is included.
