Mysterium: Secrets & Lies – Why Did the Ghost Die? 🕯️👻

A ghost's past is never truly buried. Mysterium: Secrets & Lies by Oleg Sidorenko and Oleksandr Nevskiy (Libellud) is an expansion for the cooperative deduction game Mysterium, for ages 10+, with games of about 42 minutes. You need the Mysterium base game to play.

In Mysterium, one player is the ghost who cannot speak and sends dreamlike vision cards to the mediums, who try to work out who killed them, where and with what. Secrets & Lies brings new characters, locations and objects into play, along with 42 additional vision cards for the ghost to communicate with. Its big addition is the story cards. They take the place of the object cards and represent the motive or event that led to the ghost's death – an accident, jealousy, an inheritance, a secret meeting, a pact and more. So the investigation is no longer only about how the victim died, but also about why. This gives each séance a fresh, more narrative feel, and the final reveal tells a fuller story. The new cards mix in with your base game, so you get more combinations and more variety at every investigation. The striking illustrations stay true to the eerie atmosphere of the original. It is a great way to bring new life to your Mysterium evenings.
