Yaxha – Build the Eighth Wonder of the World 🔺🌿

Yaxha takes you deep into the construction of the Maya pyramids of present-day Guatemala. In Yaxha by Baptiste Vaiana, illustrated by Julien Bigot and published by Helvetiq, 2 to 4 players aged 8 and up gather stone blocks to build their own pyramid.

Every round, the markets are filled with batches of three stone blocks in different colours. Without telling your opponents, you choose the batch that interests you – then everyone reveals their choice at the same time. Of course, your rivals may have their eyes on the same blocks, so anticipation and a good sense of timing matter. Then you add the blocks you have collected to your pyramid and try to make the longest series of each colour. Assemble your blocks wisely, because the most beautiful pyramid wins the game. Keep an eye on the common goals as well, since they can make the difference at the end: who has the most yellow blocks, who has the most varied pyramid, and who has the longest series of all colours combined? The goals change from game to game, which gives Yaxha good replay value. With 120 wooden cubes, your pyramid grows in 3D right in front of you. Yaxha is a family game with simple rules that mixes a betting game and a collection game – and it asks for strategy and good timing.
