Quarto Classic – Four in a Line, with a Twist 🟤⚪

A duel where your opponent hands you the pieces. Quarto by Blaise Müller, published by Gigamic, is an abstract strategy game in wood for 2 players aged 8 and up, in about 15 minutes.

The game has 16 different wooden pieces, and each one combines four traits: light or dark, tall or short, round or square, solid or hollow. Your goal is to complete a line of four pieces – in a row, a column or a diagonal on the 4×4 board – that share at least one trait. Sounds simple, but here is the twist: you never choose the piece you play. Your opponent picks it from the remaining pieces and hands it to you, you place it on the board, and then you choose the piece your opponent must place next. So every turn, you think twice: where can I put this piece – and which piece can I safely give away without handing over the win? The rules take a minute to learn, and the clean wooden design looks great on any shelf or coffee table.
