Critical: Sanctuary – Season 1: Your First Roleplaying Adventure 🗺️🎲

Do you like the idea of roleplaying games but have never had the chance to play one? Critical: Sanctuary – Season 1 from Gigamic is built like a TV series: 9 episodes of about 30 minutes each, for 2–5 players aged 14+.

Beyond the Neven Sea, something strange is unfolding on the Crescent archipelago, the cradle of the gods. Tombs that have long lain dormant have awakened, and ancient tales of monsters abound. The Explorers' Guild has sent its most talented members to investigate. One player takes the role of Gamemaster and brings the adventure to life; the others play the characters who interact with the story. Thanks to many illustrations and step-by-step episodes, becoming a Gamemaster is easy: the episodes start simple and gradually leave more room for improvisation. Players create their characters as the season goes on – choosing a character, a name, a background and starting equipment – and then roleplay, investigate and face action scenes. Each character has four attributes (Physical, Dexterity, Mental and Social), and dice decide whether risky actions succeed. Because each episode takes about half an hour, it is easy to fit a session into an evening. The box contains a Gamemaster's screen, a synopsis booklet, an introduction to roleplaying, 9 episodes, 32 episode cards, character, NPC, ability, background, equipment, wound and status cards, tokens, 7 dice, a map, sleeves and a dry-erase marker.
