Akropolis – Build Your City Towards the Sky 🏛️⬆️

As the most talented architects of ancient Greece, you build a city of houses, markets, barracks, temples and gardens. Akropolis by Jules Messaud, published by Gigamic, is a tile-laying game for 1 to 4 players aged 8 and up, in about 20 to 30 minutes.

On your turn, take one hexagonal tile from the construction site and add it to your city. The first tile is free, but choosing a tile further along costs stones – and stones come from the quarries you build over. You can place a tile next to your city or on top of other tiles, so your city grows not only outwards but upwards, and the higher a district stands, the more it is worth. Every district type has its own placement rule: only your largest group of houses scores, markets must not touch another market, barracks belong on the edge of the city, temples need to be surrounded, and gardens always count. Plazas with stars multiply the value of the matching district type, so planning where to put them is key. At the end, the player whose city is the most valuable wins. Quick to learn, it rewards thinking ahead – and the solo mode lets you build alone too.
