Ticket to Ride Rails & Sails – By Land and by Sea 🚂⛵

Ticket to Ride Rails & Sails by Alan R. Moon, published by Days of Wonder, is a standalone game that takes the classic route-building formula across the oceans. It is for 2 to 5 players aged 10+ and plays in about 90 to 120 minutes. No other Ticket to Ride game is needed.

The double-sided board offers two maps: a journey around the World and a tour of the Great Lakes of North America. Each player has a supply of plastic trains and ships, and at the start you decide how many of each to take, which shapes your whole plan. Routes on land are claimed with train cards and trains, while sea routes need ship cards and ships. The ship deck includes double ship cards that count as two, and all the wild cards are in the train deck, so every draw is a small decision. Destination tickets reward you for connecting distant cities. Harbors add another layer: build one in a port city you have reached and it scores 10, 20 or 30 points depending on how many of your completed tickets include that city. With 120 tickets across the two maps, there is plenty to explore for players who already know the classic game and want a longer, meatier journey.
