Mantis: Grab & Game Edition – Steal or Score? 🦐🌈

A colourfully cutthroat card game to take anywhere. Mantis by Ken Gruhl and Jeremy Posner, from Exploding Kittens, comes in a compact Grab & Game edition for 2 to 4 players aged 7 and up, with games of about 10 minutes.

The cards in Mantis are special: the front shows a character in one single colour, while the back shows three different colours – and the colour on the front is always one of the three on the back. So you always get a hint about the next card before anyone turns it over. At the start, everyone gets four cards face up in front of them; this is your Tank. On your turn, decide before touching the draw pile: try to score or try to steal. To score, turn the top card into your own Tank – if its colour matches cards already there, all those cards go to your score pile. To steal, turn it into another player's Tank – if it matches, you take all the matching cards into your own Tank. If there is no match, the card simply stays where it landed. The first player with 10 cards in their score pile wins, and in a two-player game you play to 15.
