Wyrmspan: Dragon Academy – Train Your Fledglings 🐉🎓

As a budding dracologist, you open an academy where fledgling dragons can reach their full potential. Wyrmspan: Dragon Academy is the expansion for Wyrmspan by Connie Vogelmann, illustrated by Clémentine Campardou and published by Stonemaier Games. It adds new dragons and caves, objective tiles, dragon guilds and a new round tracker, for 1 to 5 players and about 90 minutes.

The heart of the expansion are the fledglings: dragons that are generally affordable to play, with most of their cost deferred. Each time you walk over a fledgling, you can train it by paying a resource, and once it is fully trained, it unlocks an extra special power. All fledglings also score points for each fledgling you have at the end. Five new dragon guilds – such as the King's Guild and the Guild of Magicians – change things up from game to game, and the new cave cards add more options. The new round tracker gives you an income choice whenever you pass for the round: you pick resources, an egg, a cave card or a dragon card for the next round. This makes the economy a little more forgiving and shortens the game slightly, and you can use it in the base game even without the rest of the expansion. All new cards shuffle straight into the core game, and everything fits in the Wyrmspan box. You need the Wyrmspan base game to play.
