Kanagawa – Paint Your Life's Work 🎨🌸

1840: in Kanagawa, on Tokyo's great bay, the master Hokusai decides to open a painting school to share his art with his disciples. You are one of them, and you want more than anything to prove yourself worthy of the old "drawing fool". Kanagawa by Charles Chevallier and Bruno Cathala, illustrated by Jade Mosch and published by IELLO, is a poetic collection game.

Follow the master's teachings to develop your studio and set the scene for your favourite subjects – Trees, Animals, Characters and Buildings – while taking the rhythm of the seasons into account, so you compose the most harmonious Print, the one that will become your life's work. Each round, the master's Lesson cards are laid out on the School board – one per player in each row, some face up, some face down. In turn, you either stay at school, so that another row is added, or leave with a whole column of cards. Wait longer for more cards – if nobody takes your column first. When you take cards, you choose which way to place them: in the direction of the Print, to add them to your painting if your Inspirations allow it, or in the direction of the Inspiration, to place them in your studio and gain that new ability. Along the way you can claim Diplomas for artistic goals – but only one of each kind. The player with the most Harmony points wins.
