Strato – Take Control of the Weather ☁️⚡

Strato by Sophia Wagner, published by Helvetiq, is a cooperative puzzle card game in which you work as a team to manipulate the weather and overcome the challenges you are set. It is for 1 to 4 players aged 8+, and a game takes about 15 minutes.

Each game starts with a challenge card that shows which kinds of weather are in play, the victory condition, how many rows must fulfil it and the maximum number of cards allowed in each half-row. Tornado cards sit in the middle of the rows, with weather cards laid out on both sides so that no two neighbours show the same weather. Taking turns, you play one card at the end of a row and immediately apply its weather effect, shifting and rearranging the cards, then draw a new card. Feeling lucky? Instead of playing from your hand, you can discard it and play the top card of the draw pile. A few rules keep things tight: tornadoes never move, every action must change something, and gaps always close up towards the tornado. Work together to meet the goal before a row grows beyond its limit. The challenges are numbered from an introductory 0 upwards, so you can start easy and work your way to the tricky ones. Solo players get a bigger hand.
