Hygge – Get Cosy Before Winter Comes 🦔❄️

Winter is coming! Fill your pantry with all the things you need for a comfortable hibernation, choose cleverly and store your provisions at just the right moment. Hygge by Saashi, illustrated by Ewelina Proczko and published by Helvetiq, is a card game for 2–4 players aged 7+, about 15 minutes.

The cards are laid out in a grid in the middle of the table. On your turn, you take all the cards in a row or column of your choice and place them face up in front of you. Then you may store provisions: choose one of your animals, and for every paw symbol on it you can store one object of the animal's colour – identical objects need only one paw. Place the animal and its objects in a face-down pile. Some animals, such as the bat and the frog, can store objects of three different colours, but only one at a time. Hidden in the last part of the deck is the Winter is coming card. As soon as someone draws it, the game ends immediately and everyone may take one last action. Each stored object scores as many points as it has snowflakes. But every object you have not stored costs you a point, and so does every paw left on your animals. The player with the most points wins. Hygge is a mainly Danish way of life.
