ASS Altenburger Skat – The French-Pattern Skat Deck 🂡♠️

Skat is one of the classic card games of the German-speaking world, and this deck from ASS Altenburger brings it to your table with French-pattern court cards. For 3–4 players aged 10+.

The deck contains the 32 cards you need for Skat: ace, ten, king, queen, jack, nine, eight and seven in each of the four French suits – clubs, spades, hearts and diamonds. A cover card is included as well. The cards measure 59 × 91 mm and come in a folding box that keeps the deck together between games. Skat is a trick-taking game for three active players: in each hand, one player wins the bidding and plays alone against the other two, trying to collect enough card points or reach the goal of the chosen game. With four at the table, the dealer sits out each hand and the seats rotate. Because the jacks act as the highest trumps in most Skat games, reading the deck quickly matters – the French suits with their familiar symbols are easy to recognise for players who know standard playing cards. This makes the deck a good choice for regular Skat rounds, for learning the game with friends or family, and for anyone who prefers the French pattern to German suits. A 32-card deck also works for other games that use the short pack.
