Dune – Whoever Controls the Spice Controls the Universe 🏜️🪱

Politics, intrigue and warfare on the desert planet Arrakis. Dune: A Game of Conquest, Diplomacy & Betrayal from Gale Force Nine is an updated version of the classic 1979 Frank Herbert's Dune board game, for 2–6 players aged 14+, and games last two hours or more.

Each player leads one of six factions – House Atreides, House Harkonnen, the Fremen, the Emperor, the Spacing Guild or the Bene Gesserit – and each one has its own advantages and special abilities that change how you play. Over ten rounds, you move troops into strongholds, harvest the all-important spice and spend it to grow your power. Battles are resolved with battle wheels and leader discs, so planning, bluffing and the right treachery card can all decide a fight. Alliances are part of the game: you can team up with other factions, share a victory – and break the deal when it suits you. Gale Force Nine cleared up some of the rules and made minor tweaks while keeping the core of the original design, and the box includes both quick-start and advanced rules as well as a synopsis of the Dune story. It suits groups who enjoy long, tense games with plenty of negotiation.
