Ticket to Ride: The Heart of Africa – Terrain Matters 🚂🌍

Ticket to Ride Map Collection Volume 3: The Heart of Africa from Days of Wonder is a map expansion for 2 to 5 players aged 8+, playing in about 30 to 60 minutes. You need the trains and train cards from Ticket to Ride or Ticket to Ride Europe to play.

The new board takes your trains into the heart of Africa, and the expansion brings 48 new destination tickets and 45 Terrain cards. At the start you are dealt four tickets and keep at least two; later you draw four and keep at least one. The Terrain cards come in three types of 15: Desert and Savanna for yellow, orange and red routes, Jungle and Forest for purple, blue and green routes, and Mountain and Cliff for white, grey and black routes. On your turn, you may draw Terrain cards instead of train cards. When you claim a route, you can also play matching Terrain cards to double its points, as long as you hold at least as many cards of that type as any opponent has in front of them, so timing and watching the other players matter. Locomotives can act as wild Terrain cards. Madagascar has two locations on the map, and double routes are used only in games with four or five players.
