Heat: Pedal to the Metal – The Grand Prix Is Underway 🏁🔥

There's no prize for crossing the finish line in a pristine car. Heat: Pedal to the Metal by Asger Harding Granerud and Daniel Skjold Pedersen, illustrated by Vincent Dutrait and published by Days of Wonder, is a racing game set in the 1960s for 1 to 6 players aged 10 and up, in about 30 to 60 minutes.

At the start of each round you can shift gears, which decides how many cards you play. Add up the speed of your cards and move that many spaces, jockeying for position on the track. Take a corner too fast and you pay with Heat cards that clog your hand, so you have to judge when to push and when to cool your engine. Slipstream behind other cars, collect upgrades for your car and race on four tracks – USA, France, Great Britain and Italy. Play a single race or a whole championship season, where weather, road conditions and events change every race. A solo mode with the Legends module lets you race alone, or add automated drivers to a multiplayer game.
