Cascadia Junior – Adventures in the Wild 🌲🦊

What will you see on your adventure in Cascadia? Cascadia Junior lets younger players experience the spatial puzzle of the award-winning board game Cascadia. This standalone game is for 2 to 4 players aged 6+ and plays in about 15–30 minutes.

On your turn, you draft a habitat tile and add it to your own environment. Try to connect matching habitats – mountains, wetlands, prairies, rivers and forests – to grow your habitat corridors, and look for groups of three matching wildlife icons on connected tiles: bears, hawks, elk, salmon and foxes. When you make a match, you earn wildlife and habitat sighting tokens and place them on your panorama board, creating your own picture of the Cascadian wilderness. At the end of the game, everyone flips their sighting tokens to count the conifer cones, and the player with the most cones wins. Along the way, children practise pattern building, set collection and basic addition. When they are ready for more, the included wildlife scoring cards unlock an advanced mode with more complex animal shapes, and after that the family mode of the original Cascadia is a natural next step. The bright, colourful art by Beth Sobel was reimagined in a style that feels like a children's book.
