Terraforming Mars: Prelude 2 – Faster, Bolder Starts 🚀🔴

Terraforming Mars: Prelude 2 from FryxGames and Stronghold Games adds 25 new Prelude cards, 5 new corporations and 24 new project cards to the race to make Mars habitable. It is played together with the Prelude expansion, so you need both the Terraforming Mars base game and Prelude.

All the Prelude rules still apply, with a few additions. The biggest change: some of the new Prelude cards have ongoing effects or actions, just like corporation cards. They work like blue cards, although neither corporations nor preludes ever count as blue cards – for example towards milestones or awards. Your opening keeps paying off all game. Most cards carry expansion marks next to the Prelude symbol, showing which expansions they need, such as Venus Next, Colonies or Turmoil. During setup, use only the cards that match the expansions you own – or keep them in the deck and redraw whenever you draw one that does not fit. Preludes and corporations now have their own decks and discard piles. If you are about to play a Prelude card and cannot carry out all of its effects, you reveal and discard it and receive 15 M€ instead, so a bad draw never leaves you stuck. For more choice at the start, try the Extended Start variant: pick from 3 corporations and 6 preludes instead of the usual 2 and 4.
