Venus Next – Make Venus Habitable ☁️🪐

Build flying cities and make the atmosphere of the deadly planet Venus more hospitable. Venus Next, designed by Jacob Fryxelius with art by Isaac Fryxelius, is the second expansion for the Terraforming Mars base game, for 1–5 players aged 12+, with games of about 120 minutes.

In Venus Next, the World Government chooses to also fund the terraforming of Venus. Around 50 project cards and 5 corporations are added, with a special focus on how to make Venus habitable. A Venus board adds a new terraforming parameter: the Venus scale. Raising it gives you terraform rating, but Venus does not have to be completed for the game to end. The new floater resource gathers on cards – think of the flying cities and balloons drifting in the Venusian clouds – and a new Venus tag opens up fresh card combinations. The Hoverlord milestone rewards collecting floaters, while the Venuphile award goes to the player with the most Venus tags. The expansion also introduces the Solar Phase after production: the first player acts as the World Government and raises one global parameter that is not yet at its maximum, which keeps the game moving. With new paths to victory and even more varied play, Venus Next adds depth without drastically changing the rules you know. Please note: the base game is required.
