Terraforming Mars: Amazonis & Vastitas – New Regions of Mars 🗺️🔴

Terraforming Mars: Amazonis & Vastitas is a map expansion for Terraforming Mars by designer Jacob Fryxelius. Each map depicts a new region of Mars, with new placement bonuses, ocean areas and new sets of milestones and awards. The Terraforming Mars base game is required.

Amazonis Planitia takes its name from the lava plains west of the mighty Olympus Mons. This flat region is highlighted by energy bonuses and wild resource bonuses that give you any standard resource. It is a larger map with longer global parameters for a better 4–5 player experience – or simply more space to settle and more terraforming for yourself. Its milestones include Terran and Landshaper, and its awards include Collector and Innovator. Vastitas Borealis is a lowland covering a large part of the northern hemisphere, where a large ocean once lay. The map centres on the North Pole, mostly water ice covered by a layer of frozen carbon dioxide. When you place a tile there, the carbon dioxide is released: the temperature rises one step, but it costs you 4 M€. Here you will compete for milestones such as Agronomist and Geologist, and awards such as Highlander and Blacksmith. The box also contains two additional ocean tiles, 13 city and greenery tiles, a Standard Project tile and an optional Venus board with a longer Venus track.
