Scythe Modular Board – A New Eastern Europa Every Game 🗺️🎲

The Scythe Modular Board by Jamey Stegmaier, with art and worldbuilding by Jakub Rozalski (Stonemaier Games), adds a new level of variability to Scythe: the map and the faction locations change every time you play. You need the Scythe base game to play.

This is a completely new board, designed specifically for its tiles. Both the board and the four big tiles are double-sided, and each tile covers seven hexes. During setup, you choose a side of the board at random and place the tiles randomly on their marked areas. If a tile puts a lake next to a home base, simply flip it – one of the two sides always fits. Then place a home base tile on each home base hex. Next comes a new drafting step: players are dealt player mats at random, and starting with the highest-numbered mat, everyone picks a faction. Think about each faction's Riverwalk ability and the resources nearby before you choose. Between the double-sided board, the double-sided tiles and the home base tiles, there are millions of possible layouts. For smaller groups, a variant lets you remove some tiles for a tighter map. The modular board works with the Scythe expansions, and the rulebook includes Automa rules for solo play.
