Snatch It! – The Great Frog Feast 🐸🦋

A peaceful afternoon at the pond is interrupted by a chorus of hungry frogs. Snatch It! by Christwart Conrad, illustrated by Vanessa Gathuldis and published by HeidelBÄR Games, is a family card game for 3 to 6 players aged 8 and up, in about 20 to 30 minutes.

You are a hungry frog and want to secure as much food as possible. The pond in the middle of the table is filled with creature cards – crawlers and flyers numbered 1 to 6, plus swarms that count as both 7 and 0. On your turn, you snatch a creature from the pond by playing a card of the same type that is the same number or exactly one higher, building a stack in your own patch of the pond. You can also steal a whole stack from another frog – unless they reclaim it straight away. To keep your prey safe, swallow a stack by using it to snatch one more creature from the pond, and it goes into your frog belly. After each snatching phase come the storks: everyone lays a bait card, and the revealed bait decides which unsafe stacks get eaten. When the Last Bite card appears, the frog with the tastiest belly wins – swarms are worth the most.
