Casting Shadows – Awaken Your Darkness 🌑✨

Casting Shadows is a turn-based competitive strategy board game from the creators of Unstable Unicorns and Here to Slay, published by Unstable Games. For 2 to 4 players aged 12+, a game takes about 45–60 minutes.

Each player picks a character and starts with 18 health points. The map is built from seven hex tiles: an Ancient Rune tile in the centre, surrounded by the other locations, including every player's home tile. On your turn, roll the five resource dice, then spend your action points to travel across the hex tiles, collect resources, reroll, protect yourself or cast spells. Spells come from the main deck and are paid for with the resources you gather – some hit your opponents, others protect you or give you an advantage. Absorb Shadow Fragments to build up Shadow Energy. Once you have enough, you flip your player board to your Shadow Form: you summon a companion and unlock your character's special ability, which can turn the game around. Watch out for Cursed Crystals, which deal damage unless you are protected. The last player standing with health left wins the game. The box contains five dice, four double-sided player boards, seven hex tiles, 52 main deck cards, 10 companion cards, 10 Counterspell cards, four reference cards, four meeples and 13 double-sided resource tokens.
