Even trickier, more exciting and faster through three dimensions. Ubongo 3-D Master by Grzegorz Rejchtman, published by Kosmos, is a puzzle race for experienced puzzle fans aged 10 and up – for 1 to 4 players, with games of about 30 minutes.

Here you play on two levels. Each player gets a puzzle board and has to cover its light area completely on both levels with the right three-dimensional pieces – placing them next to, on top of and into each other. Nothing may stick out at the sides or reach into a third level. Look carefully at which pieces your task needs, because some of them look very similar at first glance. Whoever solves the task first shouts "Ubongo!", and the others try to finish their own puzzle before time runs out. Gems are the reward: the fastest player takes a blue sapphire and one more gem, the second fastest a brown amber and one more gem, and everyone else who solved their task gets one gem. At the end, the player with the most valuable gem collection becomes the master of puzzling. Two difficulty levels offer an easy start and long-lasting fun, and the free KOSMOS app provides solution help for every puzzle. The pieces are made from natural wood fibres.
