My City – Your City Grows from Game to Game 🏙️📜

Build a city, develop it further and travel through time. My City by Reiner Knizia, illustrated by Michael Menzel, is a family legacy board game from Kosmos for 2–4 players aged 10 and up, about 30 minutes per episode. It was nominated for Game of the Year (Spiel des Jahres) 2020.

My City is a legacy game: it changes and evolves with every game you play. Each player has their own game board and places building pieces on it to shape their city. The game starts with simple rules that allow for a quick start. Over 24 episodes, new rules and materials are added until the diverse story of your city has been told – from its early beginnings through industrialisation. Three episodes form a chapter, and for each of the eight chapters there is a sealed envelope containing new rules and materials, including stickers that permanently change your game board. Your choices carry over into the next game, so no two cities end up alike, and the game gets progressively more demanding as you play. My City is most appealing if the same group plays all the chapters together. And after the legacy campaign, the other side of the game board offers a version you can play over and over again.
