Bitoku – Become the Next Great Spirit 🌸🌲

The great spirit of the forest has ruled with wisdom and justice over all who live there – but its time is coming to an end. In Bitoku from Devir, you are one of the Bitoku spirits of the forest, hoping to rise and become a worthy heir. A demanding eurogame by Germán P. Millán, for 1–4 players aged 14+, about 120 minutes.

On your way to transcendence you are helped by the yōkai, the kodamas and the pilgrims who accompany you. You manage a hand of cards and call the yōkai at the right time and place to make the most of their abilities, and during the game you win more yōkai cards to add to your deck. Each player also has three yōkai guardians in the form of dice, which you send to the great regions of the forest on the main board to gain all kinds of new options: buildings you erect in certain areas of the forest, soul crystals that give you resources when you take certain actions and much more. Chinkon dragonflies help the mitamas, souls seeking redemption. Then there is your personal domain, where you manage pilgrims who set out on paths of contemplation and share their experiences with the Bitoku. It mixes dice placement, deck building and engine building. The oriental-inspired artwork is by Edu Valls, and the solo mode was created with Dávid Turczi.
