Pantareï – Stack Seven to Win 🐍🪵

Pantareï is an abstract strategy game for two players by Claude Leroy, illustrated by Tom Delahaye and published by Cosmoludo. Pantareï, the cosmic snake, must coil around itself seven times – and you want to be the one who completes it.

The tiles are shuffled and laid out at random in the shape of a snake, value side up. Each player has tiles of one colour, marked with values from 1 to 3, and there is one neutral tile. On your turn, you move one of your tiles left or right along the snake, jumping from tile to tile: a 1 lands on the next tile, a 2 two tiles away and a 3 three tiles away. You land on your own tiles or on your opponent's – and a covered tile cannot move until it is free again. When your tile tops a stack, you may move it alone or together with the tile beneath it. The neutral tile never moves by itself, but you can land on it and carry it along later. Instead of moving, you may swap two of your tiles – just not directly after your opponent has swapped. As stacks grow, the snake shrinks and your options grow fewer. The first player to place the seventh tile on top of a stack wins; there are no draws. The rules are included in several languages, including Slovenian.
