Codenames: Pictures XXL – Bigger Cards, Same Clever Clues 🔍🖼️

Codenames: Pictures XXL is the large-format version of Codenames: Pictures, Vlaada Chvátil's picture variant of his team party game, published by Czech Games Edition. The picture cards are much bigger, so everyone around the table – or the room – can see them clearly.

Picture cards are laid out in a grid. One player on each team is the spymaster: only the spymasters see the key card, which shows which pictures belong to which team, which are innocent bystanders and which one hides the assassin. Taking turns, each spymaster gives a one-word clue plus a number – the number of pictures the clue relates to. Their teammates then guess, touching one picture at a time. Find a picture of your colour and you can keep going; touch a bystander or an enemy agent and your turn ends; touch the assassin and your team loses at once. The first team to find all of its agents wins. The pictures are deliberately ambiguous, so one image can fit many clues. In the XXL edition, the 140 double-sided picture cards measure 4.1 × 4.1 inches instead of the usual 2.6 inches, which makes them easier to see for larger groups, at events or for anyone who prefers a clearer view. Available as two variants: the English Edition or the German Edition – choose via the variant.
